I am a electric guitar and 5 -string banjo player. Been playing for around 20 years.
One of my biggest pet peeves is a guitar player who plays bass like its a guitar. Therefore, I am trying to become an actual bassist. Working on my 2 finger technique, tone and timing. Its difficult to not use a pick- I play much better with one but it just doesn't feel right. Feel like a guitar player vacationing on bass island. Also not crazy about my recorded bass tone when using Garageband. While I attribute some of it to my playing, I also know there are recording techniques that will help.
Thats why I joined the forums.
Inherited an ibanez Ergodyne bass from a friend. Been playing it through a DAW mostly but am in the market for a decent combo. Looking at the Fender Rumble 200. In the process of setting up a jam/rehearsal space in my basement. The Rumble sounded nice and loud enough to be heard over a kit and guitar. But what do I know about bass amps?
I have a soundcloud page if you are interested in listening.
