Double Bass My New Bass, Photos!

Ooooohh, I like that looks of that! Congrats on your beautiful new bass. What is the figured wood called? It looks to me like scales.

It seems that Mr. Gorman copied Upton's design for a fingerboard extension:

The wood looks like quilted big leaf maple to me.
I only think this because of my brief love affair with Arnolds beauty, made for my friend Lou Pappas. I spent many divine moments in my bathroom looking at pictures of that mother.
According to Arnold, this wood is next to impossible to work with.
Beautiful. Kudos to Mr. Gorman and congratulations to you!

Hehe, thanks. It is big leaf maple from B.C, and yes Don said it was really hard to work with. He got an incredible deal on the wood so it was kind of a special treat for me. He normally uses quilted maple, also from B.C.
