My New Hoppus Jazz Finished (Un-relic'ed)

Just finished this bass.
Started out as a Mark Hoppus body that someone had done a relic job. Picked it up for $125 including the Quarter Pounder pickup and the nice pearloid pickguard. The metal parts had been tarnished.
I bought a MIM Jazz neck from a fellow TB'er here for $125.
I added the new Fender HMV bridge for $70.
I made the pearloid thumb rest today - the body had holes there where the relic job left them.
I painted the pickup covers white using that new Krylon Fusion paint, and polished the poles.
Added straplocks, a nicer volume knob, some new Dean Markley Slinkys.
Grand total of just under $400 for this guy.
Looks sweet, if I do say so myself.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I replaced the MARK HOPPUS neck plate with a nice "F" neck plate. And thanks for all the kind words and encouragement!

I like the idea of a split pup on a Jazz body but lord, how I hate those pickguards. Nice work on the refin though! The paint looks slick!

Thanks for all the kind words! Yeah, the thumb rest.....I know. But, when I got the body, there were screw holes there, and some chipped paint. So it was either fill 'em and paint 'em, or make this thing. So I made the thumb rest. Useless, yes. But puuurty! Thanks!

Ayup! P pickup with somewhat of a Jazz pickguard that includes what would be the control plate.
I think the stock neck is a P, but I like the Jazz necks better, so this one has a Jazz neck.

Very Nice Bass. I love the colour.....very 50's retro . I like the look. And The thumbrest looks fine. I had same problem on similar deal and I did the same. Sometimes nice form is better than function. Thank you bass talk for allowing an old bassist to share.
