Hey everyone, i wanted to upload some pics of my new baby. I LOVE this bass, the sound, the feel, everything. i had been using the rosewood version from mid 2008 to March 2010, then i decided to buy this beauty and it rocks!
Specs are mahogany body, maple/rosewood neck, maple fingerboard, 16.5 mm string separation, bart pickups...don´t know what else to say lol, feel free to answer :D
sorry for the bad english btw
I accidentally deleted the original pics so i had to save the ones i uploaded to fb...that´s why are so low quality AND i´m terrible with the camera btw, here are the pics...no idea of how post pics here LOL! anyone knows??:help:

Cool bass, congrats!

Btw, since you also played the rosewood version: is there any difference (in tone) between these 2 models? I too had at some point a SR500 and I loved that thing, but I haven't got the chance to test one of these new babies with maple fretboard? How does it sound compared to the other model?

well, the rosewood one i played was one of the old models without the mid selector so that makes a big difference, you can get a lot more range of sounds by just using it, also this bass came new from ibanez with Elixir strings (i love them btw, those feel a lot better than the music man and D´addario that i used before) so it sounds amazing with the new strings.
Talking about woods, maple sounds brighter than rosewood as anyone knows. conclusion: the maple version kicks butts :bassist:
Hope that helps :D sorry again for the bad english

I have the 506 with the rosewood fretboard too. It was also my first 6 string bass. I still use it, but I like my BTB456QM more. 35" scale, same wood for the neck as my SR506, basswood body with a quilted maple top, same pickups as my 506, and Ibanez EQIII electronics. I kinda like maple fretboards more since I got my ATK750KA. IMO the maple fretboard just looks so much better.

i was considering a BTB also but i don´t like too much the body shape and the end of the fingerboard.
same opinion as you, maple looks much better than rosewood :)
