Got my new Ibanez SR4005E from the Ibanez Prestige series.

First impressions - fit and finish are amazing, neck feels great, good weight and balance, case is super protective but a little big and heavy.

Only had a few brief chances to play it so far. Should get a good workout Sunday morning in praise band.

I will post pictures soon and a more thorough evaluation on Sunday or Monday.

Here are some pics.

Holy crap - this bass sounds amazing. Had a blast playing it this morning. Very versatile sound. I feel it could be shaped to fit any need. I ended up playing most of the set with the bass knob almost all the way up, the mids boosted about half way (with the mid sweep set to the center) and the treble flat. Had the pickup knob set center for equal pickup output. Had a really great deep tone, with a lot of depth, but not in any way muddy.

Did a little messing around in rehearsal, and found a great burpy mid range tone as well. Can't wait to spend more time with this one, and finding all the great things it can do.

Ugh...I really want a prestige SR or BTB. I could pull the trigger and owe 320 dollars a month for the next 5 months right now. I am so close to doing it. However a fellow TBer is nice enough to put his prestige BTB on hold for me for 2 weeks so I can buy his for a grand. DAMN. I am so impatient. I know waiting is the right thing to do but I could get this NOW!!
