My New Studio Build (perhaps overly detailed)

Seriously. That was a nicer perk before I gave up sugar a couple years ago. I’ll take it all to my office.
It's really hard sitting at my office when there are new toys to play with sitting in my studio waiting to come out of boxes. 
In other news, I've decided against putting a Slate Raven in my studio. It started with an accounting of the various ports on my new computer and the needed connectivity for all of my devices. It then expanded into trying one and not being totally blown away (it's still a VERY cool piece of technology, but the touchscreen vibe ultimately wasn't for me). That then spiraled into me reassessing my needs and my desire to have my keyboard MIDI controller and pads in front of me rather than off to the side. On top of that I'm quite comfortable and adept at mixing with a mouse and keyboard (i.e. without a dedicated controller). Add to all that the fact that it eliminates the want/need for a custom Zoar desk to go with it, and suddenly that's $2,000 (plus tax) worth of stuff I don't need to buy. Huzzah!

Will you be getting a new board or just the mixer in Logic?

Not a Mac Pro. My current late 2012 Mac Mini (2.3ghz quad core i7, 16gb RAM, 1tb SSD) handles my needs just fine as-is. I only needed a newer machine to handle the Thunderbolt connectivity of my new interfaces. To that end I got one of the new Minis. 3.2ghz 6 core with boost up to 4.0ghz, 16gb RAM, 1tb SSD. The geekbench score is more than double my current machine, so it should handle my needs without breaking a sweat.
No high def display needed. 4K is overkill for my needs. I’ve got an old 32” 720p monitor in there now that’s just fine. I’ll be upgrading (to sort out yet another connectivity issue that’s unrelated) to a 27-32” monitor in the resolution range of 1080-1440.
Got my ADAM Audio Sub8 setup with the F7s running as satellites. The satellites are high passed 24db/oct at 80hz. With the sub at about -12db around 105hz the playback flattened out nicely. The screenshot below is running pink noise. Bit of a dip at the filter knee as is expected in a 2.1 system. Another dip just above 200hz. I’ll get them dialed in, but for a rough placement and knob settings it’s sounding pretty good already.
You are mostly correct. All of my basses HAD Status necks, but I’ve since pulled one off of my Fenderbird and replaced it with a maple/rosewood Fender MIM neck as I’m selling that bass and will be putting its former Status neck on an upcoming Jazz build, for which I’m just waiting on the body from Warmoth.
My Warmoth Tele, and my Taylor Celebrity both have wooden necks.
I’m transferring everything on my current computer onto hard drives, backups, cloud drives, etc. and making notes of all the software I’ll need to reinstall on my new machine. My current machine is the third iteration of simply transferring the previous machine onto the new one and I feel like there’s a lot of extra carryover “stuff” from old machines on there. This new one I’m treating like a blank slate. The result should be a leaner and meaner machine, but also requires a TON of work on my part. Not hard work, just time consuming.
Switched my studio cloud backup from Backblaze to iCloud. This is going to take a while since the WiFi in the studio isn’t exceptional.
Studio rack coming together. One of the 3U drawers I ordered arrived with a bent front handle. Still functional but I opted to have Sweetwater exchange it for another one. My rack is very simple. Tuner, two power strips (one for things in the audio path, one for things not in the audio path), vented blank to leave room for wall wart adapters to clear the drawer below it, three 3U rack drawers (strings, picks, instrument setup tools, computer tools, headphones, small hand percussion [tambourine, soft shaker, triangle, etc.] and any other odds and ends I’d like to have in close reach), and lastly...
...my new interfaces. A pair of Apogee Element 88s. I use Logic Pro X as my primary DAW, and you can’t beat Apogee’s integration with Logic. I’ve also used their products in the past and am familiar with their sonic quality as well as their exceptional build quality. I wasn’t into the idea of the inputs on the front, but in retrospect it saves me from needing a snake in the studio. Very convenient. The units have no external/hardware controls and rely on the integration in Logic for their control functions. This also allows me to put the rack wherever I want without needing the hardware to be in arms reach. That works great, but sometimes it’s nice to have some dedicated hardware on the desk. So to that end...
...I also bought the Apogee Element Control remote. It’s totally customizable to control any number of Element functions. Main volume, input gain, talkback, speaker selection, input type, etc.
All told this setup should be very slick. I’ve been simplifying my workflow a lot recently, and this feels like the logical evolution of that pursuit.

Just ordered a new 32” 1440p monitor. Should be a good compromise between screen size and resolution for readability with the screen about 36-40” away.
On Friday I picked up a new studio desk to hold the aforementioned monitor, my 61-key MIDI controller, mouse, keyboard and Apogee Element Control hardware remote.
So with that the only thing I’m waiting for in terms of studio furnishings is the drum kit I ordered, which is backordered until June. I’ll grab a second snare (one tightly voiced/headed, the other deeply voiced/headed) to go with the kit, and would like to add a china cymbal to my spread of brass. At some point I’ll upgrade my MIDI controller to one with more expression controls and pads.
Basically I’m getting very close.
