Hello everyone of course you all know Nino Brown. Well i just bought one of his basses a Zebrawood Jazz. let me tell you what a bass, the sound is warm with the rear pickup on like a night in teen town. With the front pickup mixed in it's like a day in Liberty City. The construction of this bass is very high quality the battery compartment was clean. A Zebrawood top over a swamp ash body with maple neck and pau ferro fingerboard keeps this bass tight and compressed. The emg j's and the Aguilar ob1 take this compression and try to bust out like a bull in a rodeo. They're a set of EMG LJ's. They're both bridge position 4 string picksups. This bass has a Gotoh Quick Release bridge that has 18mm spacing and the pickups work fine. They will not work on a bridge with 19mm spacing.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere (on the EMG site, I think) about an LJ set with a longer magnet that will accomodate a 19mm 5 string bridge but I can't find it now. :(

I read that in their site also, but there isnt any major information, i actually need the dimentions of the pickups, Do you know them?

EMG doesn't use pole pieces in their pickups; instead, they use a single magnet that runs all the way from one end of the pickup to the other. That's why EMG J pickups can be used on any 4 or 5 string bass as long as the spacing from the top string to the bottom isn't too wide, as pointed out. The EMG LJs are just bridge pickups, meaning they're each about 3.75" long. A J neck pickup is probably an eighth inch or so shorter. Warwick uses dual bridge pickups in their 5-string JJ configurations (not positive about their 4-string JJs). MIM Fender 4s and 5s use dual bridge Js as well.
