My new Wish Bass.........

Ok, so a buddy of mine was selling his 2 Wish Basses, 4 string and a 6er. I bought the 4 string for $300. It is in great shape and has a single Kent Armstrong pup.

I have to say I am seriously impressed with the sound and playability. The neck is BIG, like URB big but that is fine with me, I play URB so it is no biggie. It is also one of the better looking Wish Basses I have seen (pics to come sorry).

What really gets me is the sound, Mwah for days and a rich woodyness that sings.

And now for some gig clips......

The first 2 tunes (Stolen Moments and Green Dolphin Street) are from a gig Mon night, I had had the bass for 8 days :D:D:D I needed a fretless and this fell into my lap.

Wishnevsky is truly the idiot savant of the bass building world hahaha!!!

Pics or no pics, I'll give the Wish some sugar ... :D

Sounds very nice, and your intonation is really good as well, especially for a new axe. Do you regularly play fretless slab, John? If not, very nice for a naked neck noob ....

I kinda like the Wishes, even with all of the build issues. Some of them look great! And I'm a fan of chunky necks, myself .... ;)

I am at work so I can't take a pic. Premature I know but I'm starting a buzz right :smug:

The neck is huge but I have played URB for years so it is quite comfy and the intonation is pretty easy to adjust to.

Here some pics from the previous owner

Thanks!!!

It's a bit rough finish wise (as all wishes are) but I am planning a nice rub down with some fine grit sand paper and a lot of oil!!!! The fingerboard need a little love too, the A ans Ab on the g string buzz a bit much but other than that a great axe!!!

I've just refinished a Wishbass sanded, shaped, sealed and finished with tru-oil. If you want a run down on what I did have a look at my thread: post 64

To the best of my ability(!) I've described what I did!

Good luck!
