There are 1000's of songs to play. If someone in the band refuses to learn a song, we move on. I find most bands no one actually says no to a song, they just passive aggressively fail to learn it well. If I lived with that person it might make the week after rehearsal a bit strained. I would never want the drama of my band spilling into my home life.

Usually you give pretty good advice on here, but on this, you're being just a tad judgmental.

Which is your right, I suppose, so have at it.

Based on how you described the drama over playing the song and threats and comments you made to your wife, I guess you have a different definition of "bully". We'll just have to agree to disagree. I also stand by my advice in my previous post.

HOWEVER, I watched your video and have to give you props for the vocals. You did nail it! I also agree with your assessment of the performance.

I have tried that. I can play it at 1/2 speed but never seem to make much progress speeding it up. I guess I should go back and try it again. It is the fretting hand that gives me the trouble, if I stay on the A and don't play the Gs I can get it up to speed with the right rhythm.

I'm a big ABB fan and play a few of their other songs and would really like to be able to play this. I'm old but I missed seeing them at the Filmore but I have seen them a few times at the Beacon and for me it doesn't get much better than that.

back in college i played in a band that did lots of ABB, including WP. not sure if you play with your left pinky but WP is the song that i learned to really use my pinky on whole steps on the E and A strings. With practice you'd be suprised how it can move just as well as index and ring moves on the high strings. you'll even learn to hammer and pull off, assuming you dont suffer from arthiritis.
Still love ABB - thought there were few more beautiful solos than the studio version Blue Sky, but recently found the Stonybrook CD and Duane and Dicky top the recorded version, just love it.
