It's a nice pedal.
Translated to Sushi Box, it's a bit like the Particle Accelerator (AMT A-Bass) vs. the Underground Accelerator (O-Bass) in terms that you can easily push it into saturation. On the A-Bass I found that there is a hard cut between clean and driven. Once you push it over, it kind of snaps on. On the O-Bass, there is a fluid change of state, much more musical.

Nice, that's great to hear and exactly what I was looking for - a nice, musical tube based preamp that can double as a good overdrive. I had the O Bass before and have been wanting to try this one.... The only issue is the shaging tariffs, but still a fantastic deal.

Long time no preamp! Until today of course ...
I'm a huge fan of the Mesa 400 and 400+ - it's been my all-time favorite amp forever and and I was bummed when I sold my last one - just too damn heavy and too nice of an amp to be sitting - so I was looking FWD to this one.

Realized I never gave my impressions of the Brick-O-Bass. Short answer: it's great, and a keeper!
Longer answer: It's a great preamp/drive box. I have never owned and Orange Amp, but from what I understand they are a little more aggressive, a little harder distortion that the typical Fender TMB, and this holds true for the B-O-B. It's not at all what I would call smooth (like the Sushibox UA or the EBS ValveDrive) - it's got some nice crunchy dirt and gets pretty hairy. There's a (very) iny sweet spot where I can coax some smoothness out of it, but if you're looking for nice, creamy smooth tube O/D, look elsewhere. This is much more balls to the wall.
Like the other AMT pedals, this one is very small, but i don't mind, and the form factor works well for us folk that like to cram as much onto a board as possible. It's found a home on my new board!

Agreed. I guess $335 is starting to be a more normal price for premium pedals, but I thought that was a bit steep. Especially when you see the internals picture.
Update: Apparently a good number of players thought the price was alright. The Sonoran is now out of stock.
El Jefe will give us a good report. I bet it will sound excellent. Josh knows his stuff.

Aight, so I haven't had as much time to mess with it as I would like to (work and family stuff), but so far it's killer. It definitely nails the grunt of the 400+ - thick, rich, juicy bass and really, really pleasing overdrive. It gets nice and thumpy, and just like the OG 400+, it's fairly touch sensitive. The controls are exactly what I would want them to be - an excellent implementation of the Fender TMB stack, very flexible with the shift options. It excels with Rock and metal.
This thing slams, to the point where I'm going to retire my SIB Fatdrive from my main pedal. All in all, another very well done preamp from Broughton.
And I know I don't need it, but I'm looking for a good bass centric graphic EQ pedal to pair with it ...

I recently acquired one after having overlooked it and will attest to its excellence.
The signal routing, and audio quality of it exceeded my high expectations.
