I'm mainly scared of having TOO MUCH buzz =/ I mean, cutting down isn't an easily reversible process, I'll have to replace the nut if I go too far, or figure a good way to fill it up.

I actually prefer the contrast that the white pickguard gives it. When the whole thing is one flat glitter finish, the glitter doesn't seem so special anymore...
Haha I was spraying paint and handrubbing lacquer inside my house.
Did it next to the window and pointed all the fans straight at it to blow out.
My technique for working nut slots is to use cardstock (thick paper) shims, which makes a depth stop for the nut files. This is a very accurate way to slot nuts. Place a couple of pieces of cardstock on the FB next to the nut, then place your file in the slot and on the paper. File back and forth until the file isn't cutting anymore, this means it has reached the exact depth/thickness of the cardstock shim. You can remove more shims until you have the exact depth you prefer. The paper protects the FB from the file and the slot will confirm to any FB radius. Sweet bass reminds me of funny cars from the 70's
If you go too far, you can use a mix of baking soda and superglue to build it back up. Be careful because it cures very quickly.
Thats awesome! i was actually in the process of do this exact job to my ibanez sound gear! just got the neck finished still working on getting the paint on the body stripped. Man that thing looks good! hope my ibanez looks half as good when its done!
Okay, I took a short sample, and...... holy crap, there's a LOT of static pops and what seems to be some clipping! Too tired to identify the source at the moment; clipping probably comes from connecting the line out from my Orange 35B directly to my com's mic jack since I didn't hear any clipping from the combo itself. Pops seem to be somewhere in the connection, shall look into it later......

I *really* need a better sample.
Started off with no EQing, and Z-mode switch set to center.
Went through Z mode high and low, then did a mid cut with EQ and high Z mode (which is what I was using for more cut), then mid hump and low Z mode (which seems pretty punchy to me).
Seems like increasing anything with EQ, and the low Z mode, has a hotter output, and that causes some problems with the recording.
I need to cut my nails too, there's one point where I accidentally changed the timbre quite noticeably when my fingernail hit it, but I'm too sleepy to record a new sample so here goes.
