My Ray 35 Just Arrived...

The long awaited pics:

The quality of this bass has truly blown me away. U played it through a GK MB2-500 into a GK 410RBH. The sheer power of this bass is remarkable.

The finish was flawless. I especially like the nice touch of a matching headstock.

One thing that bothered me is that the EQ knobs are backwards compared to my HH

Everything was rock solid, and I wouldn't have guessed it was built overseas if I didn't already know.

Simply put, this is on a level very close to the American stingrays. I have two shows next weekend where I plan to use the Ray 35 exclusively. I think I will have a better idea of the capabilities of the bass after that.

Sorry for the choppy review, I'm at work and am running in all directions. Any specific questions, feel free to ask! :hyper:

Wow! That is an awesome looking finish! To get a matching headstock in the American version would be about a $200 upgrade. These are remarkable. Does anyone know when and if Guitar Center will start to carry these? I definitely think they are worth checking out. I might get the Ray35 to add to my collection.

Some GC's already have it, The one i tried out was at guitar center in las vegas, i know the supervisor of the bass dept. he ordered it 3 weeks ago and now it is hanging on their wall, and man did it play nice and sound great, I a/b'd it with the american models, and it was was hard to tell the difference, the only difference was that it did not have the compensating nut, and the bass felt a little lighter, other than that it played and sounded just like a stingray 5, the quality was probably the best that i have ever seen on a cheeper import bass, it felt rock solid.

Maybe I'm confused with my control. I need to check my MIA now. I guess it shows i usually do all of my EQ adjusting on my amp. Anyway....
I also wanted to say I was pleasantly surprised with the tension and playability of the B string, especially considering the 34" Scale.

Also, the Set-up out of the box was top notch. All t needed was to have the strings put back in tune and it was ready to go.

bassmaster just wanted to check in and see what your thoughts are after a few days with this beauty? does it stand tall next to a stingray tone wise? just ordered mine today online same color same everything

Ok my black ray35 just arrived! Everything looks great. It plays well and I could find no blemishes. Construction is beautiful. Here are the pics:
