My current rig is as follows:
-Gallien Krueger MB Fusion
-Barefaced Big Twin T
I've had the head since last summer and the cab for about a month now, so it's not really a NAD/NCD kind of thing, but I though I'd post some comments. I'm not too good at writing gear reviews, because I don't have a lot of experience comparing bass amps/cabs.
The MB Fusion has all the power I currently need and quite a fair bit more. The gain boost channel has a very aggressive overdrive available, which suits my needs very well. The fact that you can use a pedal to activate the gain boost makes it a lot more useable. The contour is actually the only thing on the head that I'm not too fond of. By all means a very good head.
The Big Twin T on the other hand... I haven't exactly played through all of the conventional high end cabs, but I've tried some of the higher end Eden 4x10's and GK Neos. The Big Twin T is by far the best bass cab I have ever played through. The amount of clean low end is just astonishing. Also even if I crank my MB Fusion to almost full volume, no distortion whatsoever (the cab could handle quite a bit more power than what the MB Fusion has, also I keep the limiter on). It reacts very noticeably to even small eq changes, although I like to leave the eq almost flat with this cab. I have a Roqsolid cover for it, which isn't a perfect fit (they offered to replace it free of charge, great service), but it's just less than half of an inch too long. The cover is very well made, it will probably keep covering the cab for years to come.
On wednesday I played a gig (with an industrial rock band, drop D-tuning etc.) in a bar where the low end usually gets very muddy. I let the bassist of the band playing before us use my cab, and somehow the low end was a lot clearer than usually in that bar, even though most of the bass is coming through the pa. I could also hear myself on stage quite well despite having very low stage volume and the stage being quite small.
I'm very happy with this rig, no GAS at the moment.
The whole rig also weighs less than 30kg which is a bonus
Here are some pictures, sorry for the poor lighting and camera. In the other picture there's the case I use to carry the head and all the cables I need. So when I have a gig, I have three things to carry, the case, the cab and my bass (I usually use a hardcase when I put it the back of a van though).
