Folks,

Thank you to all that helped me discern my cabinet dilemma. After much contemplation, I realized I really like the Clarus head, and the AI cabinets that I have been using. I realized that my pole mounting concept was good; it just needed some refinement.

About my current setup and situation:

I play, and teach a lot, so a light weight and a setup that doesn't have a lot of pieces is necessary. I will not sacrifice sound. I mix a mic and pickup at every gig. Full Circle and ATM350. I sit while playing

So here is my new and improved Acoustic Image cab pole mount solution. Everything(table, Coda and Clarus, Mic and ipad) except the pole fit in in the Ten2 bag. My walmart foldable stool and the speaker stand bungee together. I bought the Yorkville speaker stand as seen in RickWolffs post. Thanks Rick! I built the table with a budget of $10, and supplies from the local hardware store. Hopefully the pics help illustrate the concept. The top of the table is reflective. I have not been in want of low end. The Ten2 sets on the table nicely as well. Bass, bag, and stool. One load...the schlep is on.

I hope this helps anyone who may be thinking about elevating their AI cabs.

Looks good!
After demoing some powered PA cabs I came to the same conclusion with my Markbass CMD 121 combo. I ordered one of these Speaker Stand External Mounts last week with the intent to do something similar. Since my amp is rat fur I'm going to make the board smaller and put some hook side velcro on it to keep the box put.

Being incredibly lazy when it comes to schlepping gear I do have misgivings about creating yet another piece of equipment to carry though and am half inclined just to cut a hole in the bottom of my amp and install one of these internal Speaker Cab Adapters.

The speaker cab adapter looks like a much more elegant solution, as long as you make sure you do not drill into something important inside the amp.

If I had the choice, I would definitely do the pole mount. Definitely, due to the technology and the down firing speaker in the AI combos I was relegated to a less elegant, but functional solution.

Yes. I am actually surprised that you get enough bass output that way. Interesting to know, since I have an AI loudspeaker myself.

Sounds the way I like it, right now. Ear for tone and concept change over time, but for now I like it. I like my amplification to be an extension of my bass, or as close to my bass as possible. I don't play crazy loud gigs anymore so this works. If I didn't have the mic, or mic/pickup combo things would be different. I am happy with the result and happy to take some weight off the schlep. : ).
