My Stingray's volume knob is actin' all a fool

Whether it's all the way on or all the way off, the volume is at 100%. Anyone ever had this happen? Do I need a new potentiometer?

Mine did the same thing on my old SR5.

Get a new pot. Its a 25k linear.

Sounds like there's a short between two of the contacts, either that or the ground connection could be open I guess?

Mine just lost its resistance when you would turn it, and just spun.

Can the volume knob on a Stingray be replaced with a 10k Linear to quiet it down just a bit?

My 2002 Ray is quiet. Do you have the treble cranked? If so, the volume pot isn't going to help that.

I would think that would cause a volume drop, and drop in treble.
