IMHO one of the best ways to improve playing, beside practicing every day, is to receive an honest and clear review by more experienced musicians. So I would be very grateful if you may find some time to listen to some recordings of my band

You guys sound great. Nice group interaction. Swingin'. The two little thoughts. 1) for myself I like a bit more of a natural tone on the bass with a nice point, the punch in the gut I talk about, on the attack. By default I think this will add a bit more 'hump' to the time feel. 2) The only thing I can think about for the performance is maybe use a bit more dynamic range. It's all pretty medium volume. The range helps add interest.

i agree on dynamics, we really do have to give more breath and dare more on this - concerning my sound,I also agree.Consider that the recording has been done only with a piezo in my AI contra with the DI sent into a mixer, so no ambient sound whatsoever - also the bass was stringed with Spirocore E & A and Obligato D&G - i have lately swapped this set with one of Presto (eurosonics) Nylonwounds, which on my bass sound really nice and very gut like, and really easy on the hands as well, which is always good.
BTW I have never tried real guts, i really wonder if it will improve sound even more...what do you think?

United Blues - the opening unison is really clean playing for you, but has a little overmodulation distortion (in the guitar?), but you already know that. The walk is really solid with good/interesting note selection and length of notes is really great.

D.O.W.&R. - The head seems a bit choppy, but the tune gets smoother when you start walking. Hold your notes even longer if you can. On your solo, I liked the occaisional vibrato. The sound of your bass in this track sounds great in the lower register. Can you get that same fatness in the higher register somehow from your rig?

Fabrizio, overall your sense of time is really good! You guys have a good thing going. And best of all -- your drummer is fantastic (from a bassists perspective)!

Concerning the fatting up the higher notes, I have somewhat lack of strength in my fingers up there,resulting most of the times in a muted thin sound. I am aware that this is really only related to myself and not to the strings quality or instrument. I am working a lot on practicing in the most correct way possible on the second octave registry, and this hard work is starting having results. Moreover I have recently upgraded my set up by adding a Lehle Sunday Driver in between the bass pickup and the amp, resulting in better defined overall sound. as soon as I can i will post some new recordings made this way.
