i know almost every one of my myspace friends.

i don't add people unless i know them or have seen them somewhere.

i only add bands if i like the music.

i'll add any TBers.

ps, eric. that is going in my myspace.

For the most part, +1. If a TB'er wants to add my band or me, I'll add you guys. If a band asks me, I'll listen... if they're good, they get it. Comedians, if I've seen them & like them, I'll add. I added Ashton Kutcher, but only because he said on TV if he got up to a certain number of friends in a certain time he'd give a really big donation to some charity. As for normal people, if I know you I guess I'd let you be my friend. I personally don't like to add many people, so I do the selecting.

I put that I'm a whore. But only with my bands MySpace page. Add them all. BUT when dudes start advertising CLUBS, PARTIES, or DJ FESTS, posting flyers for their gigs a thousand miles away from where we are, or a stripper chick wanting you to visit her page and add her. I delete those comments from our comment board.

My personal space is set to private. I'm a teacher of 7th and 8th grade. Beleive it or not, even though most are 12 and 13, almost all have myspace pages and want to add me. That's just asking for trouble. I have 250 friends or something like that on my personal space and I know them all or they are bands that I've listened to and like.

In all the kerfuffle that surrounded the arrest of Tom Stephens this week, there was a certain inevitability to the media locating his profile on the social networking website MySpace. Before the page was closed down, it was possible to see that, alongside Stephens's professed admiration for Hong Kong Phooey, he boasted eight online "friends" including the MySpace administrator, Tom. Yesterday, those eight "friends" were already attracting attention, and acquiring all manner of unpleasant comments on their sites. It was, perhaps, a cautionary tale of friend-making in MySpace."

Tom the administrator is, of course, everyone's first "friend", added by default when you set up your page.

On our band site, all applications are subject to approval, and we neither invite anyone nor request to appear on other people's lists.

Edit: after re-reading the poll, I'd now vote "Add only those with similar interests" (fixed it for ya).
