With the overwhelming success of MySpace I wanted to know something from all my TB'er friends. About adding people on your myspace. I never add anyone I don't know. Because it is my personal space, I usually don't add bands unless I know someone in the band. I will almost never add someone if they have 30,000 friends (I did say it was a personal site).
What are your thoughts. I meet alot of people here on TB and just in general. If someone wanted me to add them, I think an e-mail over MySpace letting me know they are from whereever and that they want to be my friend.

I have 162 "friends", and I know each and every one of them... Here's a quote directly from my MySpace page...

"IMPORTANT... A word to all potential "friends"... I only accept people I know, want to know, respect, etc., etc. etc. I am not into acquiring "friends" that I don't know or will never meet. If you are not a band/musician/etc trying to network your music/talent and you have 15,000 friends you're not popular, you're simply a douchebag trying to substitute your lack of a real life with that of a pathetic cyber-life. If you want me as a friend, e-mail me first. Cold friend requests get canned, just so you know! Don't take it personally. I most likely don't dislike you, I'm just not part of this ridiculous MySpace friend-acquiring race. E-mail me first. It's not lots to ask, is it stranger?"

Awesome Quote!!!
I have 165 "friends", and I know each and every one of them... Here's a quote directly from my MySpace page...

im a whore. mostly friends from hs that i have talked to in awhile, some close friends, and then whoever requests my electronic friendship, haha. i hate myspace, but i keep it for the times that i am overly bored and dont feel like discussing basses anymore.

i know almost every one of my myspace friends.

i don't add people unless i know them or have seen them somewhere.

i only add bands if i like the music.

i'll add any TBers.

ps, eric. that is going in my myspace.

On my personal site, I add only friends, musicians I want to network with, and bands I really like.

My band site, we add everyone and anyone, as long as they aren't spamming us too much. Every friend is a potential CD sale.

I'm much stricter on our comments page. I have a personal disdain for anyone posting advertisements on our comments page. An ad for a show on my band's comment page is still an ad, and unless you are paying me for the space, I'm not keeping it there. Friend's bands and shows we are on are of course, forgiven.

i add most anyone unless they have that 'blue screen of death' when checking out their profile.
i fully admit that i'm trying to make the transition from slut to whore...whores get paid...but i'm cool with anyone.
hey...i know someone that i suggested to get a myspace page, and that person is now on the cusp of getting one hell of a contract...it took him six days!
so, i don't say no to many.

Link Removed will only add friends, bands of people I know, tbers, and such. Some of my all time favorite musicians (people with a zillion "friends") are my "friends" on myspace because I want to get their bulletens and blogs.

My dogs Link Removed, OTOH, are total Myspace whores. They will accept "friend" status from ANY other dogs or pets. They're very picky about people though.
