NAD: A Rare Find!

I had no intention of buying anymore amps as I'm quite set with what I have. But then this appeared on Reverb: a Tech 21 dUg Ultra Bass 1000. I simply could not resist it. Especially at the price it was listed at. It's an unused B stock amp that was very heavily discounted from the brand new price due to minor cosmetic damage. It must have been stored in the shop's warehouse for a hell of a long time or maybe it just never sold due to how expensive they are at brand new price. And to top it all off, the store even offered me the used rack case you see it in in the picture below, free of charge! I still can't believe how much of a bargain I've got myself here. The amp only weighs 15lbs so even with the rack case it's not that heavy at all.

Oh and most importantly...the tone. THE TONE. It's absolutely killer. It's a very specific amp that is mainly suited to heavier tones (nice clean tones can be had too though!) and it's right up my alley. Can't wait to use it at rehearsal and bring it out for some shows.

The fact your blasting an amazing amp through a Darkglass cabinet, I can share your enthusiasm for that setup.

The Tech21 stuff is amazing!

Reliable, well built and full of tonal options.

I have a VT500 head that I finally paired for a gig with my DG212, and the tone finally matched what has been inside my brain forever.

Silly me owned the head for 5+ years before I gigged with it.

Highly, highly underrated equipment.

PM me what you paid for that head if you don't mind, as I would like to feel worse than now, the envy I have for you.

👍
