NAD! Ampeg and Berg Content!!

Pulled the trigger on this matched combo today! SVT VR and SVT-810AV.

The 810 will be going to my son to be paired up with his SVT-7. Here's what I'll be jamming with. Can't wait to try this rig out!!!

That's a classic setup around these parts! I'd be interested in hearing your impressions comparing the two cabs- there are some varied opinions on the differences (though there are also some different versions of the SVT cab with different speakers/ different wood/ etcetera). I much preferred my NV610 in every way to the 80s Ampeg fridge I used to have, but I've played some other back-lined Ampegs with my amp that sounded great as well (I'd probably still choose the Berg because of size and weight though!).

I did A-B the 810 and 610 briefly today. Both the head and cabinet are Vietnamese and gently pre-owned. The Ampeg and Berg were actually quite similar in tonal response. The Berg seemed a tiny bit "tighter". Both sounded awesome! My son was in the market for a larger cabinet to go with his SVT-7. I'm going with the Berg for space and weight reasons. A win-win! I had a Loud era SVTCL and OSB 810 a while back and I can say both of these combinations sound better to me!
