Okay, I can hear the fan, but it's not too bad. My pf210 cab will arrive tomorrow, so I plugged is headphones, and it sounds glorious. But it stinks, or more like STINKS! Never had a new piece of electronic equipment smell quite like this one before. Did your new pf series amp smell? How long until that goes away?

Yes. It stunk. Went away after a few hours of play but can still smell it if I sniff it. Just let it air out. Good luck. I'm on my third and hope it's the charm. Love the sound and output and light weight.

Best looking micro available. Chassis like a anvil.

I have the exact same rig....didn't notice a stink from the head but the internal cab smell (which I assume is the glue used on the lining) pongs a fair bit.

Ballsy tone with plenty of punch. You are going to love it!

Yeah, mine had a fair bit of the "smell" too...but not nearly as much as my old Hartke LH500...WHOO did that stink for a long time of that electro-funk.

But the tone is great. And it goes loud.
It has been relegated to backup duty, as I have a ToneHammer500 now, but for good old-school tone, it's pretty damn cool.

I like the look of the PF series too, I'm considering some PF cabs to go with it, but I'm not sure. That said, I like how the PF heads weigh more than the other micros - don't get me wrong, if anybody likes their 2-5 pound head I'm not criticizing anybody, I just like the head having a bit of weight to it so that it doesn't fly off of the cab when yanked.

The head is screwed to the cab lid in this series so it isn't going anywhere if yanked..... :)

This is truly a golden age of bass gear indeed - I had an Acoustic B-3 that weighed fourty-ish pounds, and currently still own a 30-pound Warwick head. I'm young and am starting to work out and I have never had a problem with moving either of them, but I'd still rather move my PF-500.

most other brand's micro heads don't screw to the cab though, the fliptop is only for the ampeg stuff.
