Just got home and my new Ashdown MiBass 2.0 was waiting for me. I'd love to hear from any current or former owners regarding any experiences they would like to share. Let the unboxing begin!

Ok, I've got to shut it down but after an obviously brief period of messing around with this amp, I'm kinda digging it! Seems to have a lot of versatility and offers me something a little different than the Kustom KXB500 that I got a little earlier this month with it's ability to get dirtier/over driven tones. It does the clean stuff pretty well. And it makes a NICE nightlight....... :D

Ok, here are my initial impressions after the little time I had with the MiBass last night. The amp sounds good! It appears to be well constructed and thought out. I wish it had a mute switch/effects loop but hey, for what I paid I'm not really complaining. That's really the only dislike, and that may be too strong of a word, that I have. More time with it is needed but if it continues to impress, I feel that I have two very nice lightweight options between it and the Kustom KXB500. Hurry up weekend. I have a date with a couple of heads! :D

Said this in another thread. I think my focus is about to change to the acquisition of some more modern cabinets. The one's I have aren't going anywhere. They still sound good to me. I'd just like to get something that utilizes the newer technology (low weight, speakon connections, etc.). There's no hurry. Gonna wait for my deal to surface....

I just got one and haven't tried it out yet but I will this afternoon at a jam. It's filling the shoes of my Genz benz shuttle 6.0 but it didnt cost anything like the Genz I bought used for $300.00 4 years ago. Lets see how it does.

Mine still sounds good to me but it's not really the loudest of amps. Tonewise, I dig it.....

I have one as well and love the sound. Haven't tried it with a band yet. What situations have you used it where you found it lacking, volume wise?

Nothing excessive. Drums, guitar(s) and occasionally a keyboard. It's simply not what I would consider to be an amp with lots of headroom. I also own the Kustom KXB500 and both amps appear to have similar ratings. There's a distinct difference in the performance of the two with the KXB500 having a beefier feel & louder presence when using the same cabs. The Kustom also is more of a clean sounding head. In order to get near the same level of volume as it has using the MiBass, I find that I have to boost the gain and output quite a bit. Boosting the gain of the MiBass adds more grit to your tone and if that's not what you need or want, it's a problem if you have to do that to get the volume you need. The KXB500 pretty much stays clean.

As I've said, the MiBass 2.0 is a great sounding little amp and the price certainly was right. It's currently my go to amp for practice use around the house. When I venture away from home, I have other good sounding options that provide me with a little more wiggle room if additional volume is required. I'm not unhappy with the amp at all, especially at what it cost me, but I've reached a logical conclusion on how I feel it best serves my needs at this time. Those needs could change at some point...

I hear you! I do like mine but I'm not sure that I would ever use it a lot away from home. That's especially true given the other options I have around. It's settled into a role, which I think it fills very well, for me. Not sure what your needs are but there may be something else out there that suits you better...

These may have been viewed already. Check out the different settings used to obtain the tone. Smoother & richer is always a lower gain setting. In my experience the amp sounds good clean (smoother & richer). My experience also tells me that I may not get the desired volume with those lower gain settings....

This final one has a player that is obviously more of a Rock enthusiast, so grind may be of more importance...

I bought it with practice and small stuff in mind. I am considering a Carvin Micro extension or maybe an Eden EX cabinet to pair with it. At the moment, I only have a Mesa Powerhouse 4x10. I realize it's under powering the Mesa but's it's only for experimentation.
