NAD: Ashdown MiBass 2.0.....

Well as a spare it could be ok- it does after all deliver 400w at 4 ohms, yes? But I'm concerned about that 4 ohm issue...

As for feeding power to a sub, I thought there was a line-in and a line-out? It'd be going to a BFM T-24, which doesn't need lots of power to make do its thing.

I've run mine using two 8 ohm cabs since I acquired it. Haven't had an issue with the 4 ohm load at all. Others? Some of them have reported issues. What's up with that? I don't know. I even contacted Ashdown about it shortly after getting mine and the email reply I received, which appeared to be from Mark Gooday, stated it was a non-issue.

There is an 1/8" input jack that can used to connect an auxiliary audio source but the only outputs are the three that I named. Headphones, DI and two speaker. Here's the manual....

I'm one ahead of you now! Lol, thanks. Ok, well what kind of gigs are you playing with it? I'm mostly doing small band (Blues, funky grezy stuff, small raock/jam band), and an occasional duo/acoustic trio these days. One noisy rock band, but I have my Trace head for that... but you mention "polite". I don't expect it to be an SVT, in fact I'm always surprised at how loud the new little Class-D things go! Used a GK MB500 that made my head swim.

If I may ask, what did you pay for yours? This one's "new", he's asking $220...

I've seen them sell for more and also for less. The Bass Place was blowing them out after last year's NAMM show. The best deals that I saw were from there. Most of the people that complained of the issues with 4-ohm usage appear to have made their purchases from there as well. Mine came from a different source. I paid a little more than many of the deals that I saw go through The Bass Place (As low as $49.00 AS-IS with no warranty to around maybe the mid-$200.00 range). What I paid was closer to what you are being quoted.

Don't mind if it's a nice gadget that'll work for me. So you seem to dig yours...

I've got other amps that I feel better about using when I'm away from home. The MiBass has been relegated to my main practice amp around the house. When I say polite...... In my opinion it's just not an amp that has a lot of, shall I say, BALLS. My Kustom KXB500 has BALLS galore! It's also the only amp that I own that is similarly rated. The MiBass has to really be turned up to get close to the same level of volume as the Kustom when that KXB500 is at much lower settings.

Alright... I am limited in my resources so maybe I should hang and not spend them on this booger. I don't use a practice amp at home, and what I do have has to be able to fill shoes. Thanks for the help, ebozzz!

For what I use it for primarily, it does a great job! I don't think I'd ever gig with it but depending on the situation, my opinion on that could change. Very nice tone and tweaking the EQ gets you quite a few good tonal variations.
