Just thought I'd let y'all know that I just got a TCE Blacksmith and man oh man, does this thing purrrrrr. I have tried many of the newer amps out there everything from GB ShuttleMax9.2 to Aggie DB751 and I gotta say that for me, the Blacksmith is the tool of choice.
Regardless of the known power rating nonsense, this thing cranks and gets louder than you would ever need it. I play in a modern country cover band with 3 guitar players to compete with. I had this baby at 3 and was teetering on "Too Loud".
The multi-band compression is amazing and having the semi-parametric EQ, when you want it, is definately nice. This amp is dead simple to dial in but also has a wide range of tones. And the three presets?! I have one set for Modern tone, one for Vintage tone, and the third for my Kala Ubass!
This amp may be over kill for most venues/jobs, but having this thing behind me gives me the piece of mind that I will never be without. I tried it with just a single TB153 and then with both TB153's and am confident I can play from coffee house to arena and not need anything else.
