NAD - GK MB200

I sold my Ashdown Electric Blue 180 15" combo and bought a GK MB200 head (seems as though everyone is getting one of them) to power my Ashdown 4x10.

It sounds great! Makes my 4x10 sound more alive!

I'm considering selling the Ashdown 4x10 and buying a GK MBE210. Any opinions on that?

Do you feel your Ashdown cab has an "inherent tone", even with the MB200? Sorry can't speak to the GK cab tones, never owned any. Just a GK1001RBI I used with SWR cabs a few years back.

I was gonna buy either the MB500/800 to power one of my 4 ohm cabs. I have the GB Streamliner 900 but wondered how the MB500/MB800 would work for me. BUT I've always missed the tone of my Ashdown ABM RCII from years back. I found a real nice deal on a new MAG 300H head last week and so I bought one. It def has that Ashdown-sound to my ears.

Nice amp, lots heavier than my GB or Markbass heads but I only use it for small 112/212 cab gigs. I only have Genz Benz, Epifani, TC-RS cabs to run it thru and it works fine with them. Just wondered if the Ashdown cabs added much more to the Ashdown tone? I dropped this head twice last week on a hardwood floor and its' still ticking like a clock.....a clock with a loud fan in it. ;>)

I really picked up the MAG300 for a song so was thinking about maybe adding a Ashdown cab, a couple 210's or 2x115's. Not real familiar with what those cabs sound like. That MB200 is nice n small for sure and from I've read here powerful, enjoy.

The Ashdown 4x10 cab seems pretty clean, I can't hear an "inherent tone". My Electric Blue 180 amp definitely had a tone to it, it sounded way more 'muddy' to me then the GK (using the same cab).

I'm enjoying this head, much cleaner and louder then my ashdown.
