I bought myself a birthday gift this year -

Sounds closer to the 800RB than I expected, even without the drive engaged (sometimes the drive is a little too distorted, in fact.) Also sounds better with the Pad rolled off a bit, not dimed like it is in the picture. All in all, happy to have a more portable version of the amp I love so very much...
 
Did you swap the drivers? I don't see aluminum..
No. The previous owner painted the cone black because he didn't care for the shiny. The other driver still looks proper.

Two of these cabs with that amp is a rock and punk rock bass player's dream !

One of those is on my wishlist....I love my 700RB-II (and the Presence knob), but one of these would be great for a lighter load-in/out without sacrificing tone and volume.
My thoughts as well. I should note it's the Legacy 500, which I picked because it's the closest in output to an 800RB. I've never had a problem with volume before, and I don't mind sacrificing a little headroom to get some grindiness in the tone. I haven't had a chance to gig with yet but hopefully soon...
