NAD Peavey VB-2

24 oz of coffee, three hours of driving and 160 miles later, I am now a member of the tube amp club :D

Apologies for the obligatory semi-blurry cell phone pics.

I think it was in the guy's store for a while, and just couldn't find a buyer in his area. It's a small town, probably not a lot of bass players. It sounded okay through the JBL 1x15 I tested it with in the store. I played one through a Mesa 8x10 last summer and it was awesome! Loud, punchy, grindy deliciousness.

Brought it to my parents home where my DB412 is currently living. I let it warm up for a few minutes, and geeked out for a good hour or so.

I only had my Skyline 44-60 with me, but man does that amp sound good! I think this amp is just as capable tone wise as my RBI/Markbass SD800 rig. Its obviously heavier, big whoop. I can deal with the weight for tone like this!

For good measure

Yeah, they are pretty hard to come by, Peavey only made them I think for 3 yrs or so.

I just use it by itself. One is enough, lol. And its a beast to move as well. But worth it.

Lol, they only weigh like 50 or so lbs... They're extremely durable though in the case should they ever be dropped (which I've done, and my heart skipped a few beats...). I made a makeshift carry handle between the two handles on top of the head and lug it around down and up stairs with my 50 lb pedal board; Great workout routine.

I was referring to my Peavey 412 is a beast to move, lol.

My bad, lol.... But yeah, Peavey cabs are a BlTCH to move; especially the older, vintage equipment. We have the old 2x15/2x12 cab in my uncle's studio back in Kosciusko and it takes at least 3 guys to move it. When we had to move equipment a few months back, I had it put on the back of my truck and the tailgate snapped backwards under its weight! I thought my Mesa PH cabs were hell but the Peavey is a whole different ballgame...
