Figured since my Markbass Blackline 250 died, I needed a replacement amp even though I have other amps. I just like to have a couple on hand. Anyway, the price was right so if it's a bust, I'm not out much. BQ500/$249 from Sweetwater. I haven't fired it up yet due to me being on call this week. I'll get to it and report back.

You'll probably get some slag about the TC amps on here... but I have a BH 250 that has been bulletproof. Sounds good, no issues, priced right and didn't break the bank. Enjoy your amp!

Ok, I finally got a chance to fire it up. Wow. This thing is pretty damn loud! Nice simple amp with a compressor. If it lasts more than a year, it's well worth the price and will pay for itself in 6 months. I had the gain at noon and the master at 10 o'clock. Had my room rumbling and it was only connected to an 8ohm 1x12. I can't imagine it hooked up to my 4ohm Eden cab or my 2 GK Neo112's! I had the 'compressor at noon. I didn't notice any volume degradation as has been mentioned. It feels solid and well made. Knobs turn smoothly. Will be a while before testing out the DI. For $249....this is a frikkin' bargain! Everyone should have one as a backup.

I picked one up online for about the same money a couple years back. I thought it a solid amp perhaps without nuance but powerful.

10 months after purchase it was dusted regularly but hadn’t made it to one gig, and I typically don’t carry a backup. I sold it combined with a 212 cab to a RNRoller. Interested in what your seconds thoughts are on its applicability to the ‘funk’.
