NAD, Two Boxes Checked Off

We have all sold stuff, that we usually regretted letting go of in mere moments.

Kids need tutors, car broke down, wife just ~has to have~ some new geegaw.

My kids are grown and sort of independent, my wife has been broken of her geegaw addictions, and I have a modicum of disposable income.

I’ve been on a mission to get back all my (insert four letter word here) ….gear, the word was gear, but I know where most of your minds were going.

Under the heading of getting all my gear back, and REALLY making the neighbors mad, I got this.

Gonna mount it with the Eden preamp, and bi-amp to an Ampeg 8 x 10.

Going to add the Peavey amp coming out of the Eden rack to my PA rack to expand possibilities.

That’ll fix that guy next door who revs his Z-28 at 4:50 AM every week day before he leaves for work.

Box 1: Gear required, check.

Box 2: Sound pressures adequate to annoy at least one neighbor, check.

Oh, the SVT-4 Pro was the newly acquired item.

One tip, bon’t plY the bass to bug your neighbors, play polkas or really old cheesey Country and western songs from the early 60’s (you know the ones with the pitchy pedal steel at oh say 130 dB might get a reaction.

I’m gonna say that that rig will be adequate to cause neighbor annoyance.

I have an old Lincoln welder-generator with an inadequate muffler I can start up early after my neighbors have a loud party into the wee hours. Helps them shake off the hangover.

Not proud to admit that I know how this sounds and feels .

Bonus points if you drive the RPM's a bit higher and get it to pop some with a rich fuel mixture.

So follow-up.

I loved this amp when I was younger because it was offensively loud and brutally angry. Ya never got lost in the mix.

Bi-amping makes for a highly sculptured and refined sound, and a preamp gives even more control, but I found that to be neither particularly loud nor particularly angry.

Mono bridged, one out, one in, that’s the sound I remember.

I’ll use the Eden somewhere else.

As it was designed (I believe) to be used, parked on an Ampeg fridge.
