Namm 2016: *New* Fender Elite Series

If they are going back to the metallic Fender symbol on the headstock I'm not a fan. I prefer the merge of modern advancements with vintage look. If they are missing the binded and block neck I may be tempted to pick up a used American Deluxe and switch the pickups.

Holy ugly headstock logos. Fender never fails to disappoint me year after year. It's almost a joke that they use the word "elite" to describe these basses when it is far from the best when compared to others in its price range. FYI all I play is Fender which is why I get so excited for NAMM 2016 then let down. I think it's finally time to spend the extra cash and move on to Lakland or Sadowsky.

Another forum had the pictures and from what I can tell they are 100% legit.

They took the wheel truss rod idea from MusicMan and they updated the pickups which I'm guessing will be sub par based on previous performance of their noiseless active pickups. This will be the 4th version of them so who knows...maybe they will finally get it right.

What is wrong with the B-tuner on the 5-string and the A-tuner on the four string. Or is this the hot new innovation I've been waiting for so long?
At a second glance: just follow the way of the B-string on the 5-string as it is slowly losing its direction.

I'm talking about that strange object shortly before the H-string touches the tuner on the 5 string and the A-string on the 4-string.
The B-string still makes me sick. I will dream about how it went astray on its way from the fretboard to the bridge tonight.
Now I've made my way to the g-string on the 5er. It doesn't have a place on the nut and only starts to be on the fretboard at the 9th fret or so.
