What a great pic of Tal. Would someone take/post a higher res shot please?

Edit: And with no dude in the way, thanks.

Sorry, but this one will have to suffice until someone can get on that...

The pedulla's are wood experiments mostly basses he made to try some things out. The citrons were realllly nice that ae bass has me gassing for sure. I really liked that EB Big Al bass sterling like neck with the 3 singles and the electronics with the passive option are great, its hard to really test stuff though. The markbass booth was a real zoo Hadrien was playing when I was there, Garrison was there, Alain Caron was there and michael manring was there...so it was a bit crowded to say the least.

Thats my wife with elmo had to take that pic. I also cant say enough how nice stew and carey are.

Is Matt going to be using Markbass as well? It wouldn't suprise me at all. Tone wise they're right up his alley.

Citron is one of the companies I've always been very interested in. I'd love to get my hands on those.

I like that! And I agree with whomever said they like that better than the "big Al" - this one is much cooler to me!

I'd like it better with 5 strings.

I think I know what I am basing my next ho'made build on! THAT (with offset hips like a Jazz bass)

Hitting the drawing board in 3...2..1.

It looks great, but the problem with that design [ASAT as well] is that the nut is going to be "out there". Some guys just don't like the feel of that.

Which is funny, because the Big Al is very similar to the Reverend I sold you. I dig both and will have a Big Al on order shortly.
I don't disagree, there are a lot of similarities. But somehow the differences are really significant to me. I also think the Rev's headstock works better with that body shape. I'll bet it sounds great, though. A three-pickup arrangement is intriguing, which is why I'd really like to try the HSS 25th.

I don't follow... Could you clarify a couple of things for me?
1) What is ASAT?
2) What do you mean by the nut is going to "out there"?

I like the "Tele meets Les Paul" thing it has going and like my first build (which was a "Rickenbacker meets Fender Jazz"), I like taking designs like those and offsetting the hips the way Fender did from Precision to Jazz.

Regardless, I'm inspired and that's worth the price of admission alone! Now if only I could afford the price of admission! LOL

ASAT is a tele-style model G&L makes, and the nut being out there means that often times there is neck dive...or a long reach with such a short horn.

The G&L ASAT has a similar body/strap peg placement:

Most basses have that upper horn extending the strap out to the 13-11th fret for a reason. But hey, lots of people don't mind reaching a little farther out, especially if they play with the closed hand [124] technique.
