Nathan East is my favorite 5-string player. His work on the low-B is just perfect for what the songs need... and he strikes me as a heckuva nice guy.

Wilton Felder most likely played on this song, he played on some of Barry White’s other hits during that period like “You’re the First, the Last, my Everything” and “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe”.

Nathan is a very fine first name for a bass player. East, Phillips, Watts... three of my favorites.
