Hey Guys, I play country, rockabilly, and punkabilly (different bands of course) What ever I am playing its LOUD. recently I got a K&K slap master pick up which helped my sound alot and cut back on some of the feedback issues i was having with my revolution pick up. BUT I am still having major feedback issues. I have heard of different solutions that require new hardware, but not many low cost natural solutions. Can anyone help me out on this?

Double Bass Natural ways to get rid of feedback

There are some things you can do. Get a preamp, I just discovered these myself after being on this site. I got a Fishman Platinum EQ and it cuts out a lot of feedback. Another thing is to stop unwanted vibration wherever possible. Get big fat rubber bands and put them on your tuning keys and the head itself. If you have a Maxbass, try putting duct tape around bridge and wing where it is installed. Go to Home Depot and get that styrafome looking pipe wrap. It comes in 6' sticks. Cut them in half and cram then into your bass through the "F" holes. Then cut two pieces the right size and plug your "F" holes with them. Then wedge a piece between the body of your bass and the tail piece and tape it in place. Try not to stand directly in front of your amp. Put a piece of carpet on the stage where you play. Lastly, squeeze the bass body between your thighs. I play in the a rockabilly/psycobilly type of band and had the same problem and these are the ways I solved it. Goodluck
I found that I had feedback originating with the strings on the south side of the bridge- between the bridge and tailpiece, in other words. I wrapped them with felt and a velcro cord strap, pretty well cured THAT one!
i just added a bbe sonic maximizer to me rig and it damn near knocked out all my feedback. i dunno why, but it helped a lot
I have a k&k BM RB and I like it, but I have been hearing alot about the fishman. I also have a sansamp that I play BG through. What do you think the best pre amp is? Will the sans amp do all? Is the k&k enough? should I get a fishman and run through it after running through my k&K?
