As opposed to staying where he was and being a virgin for life?
They may get a run of a few years, but other teams always adjust eventually. Might take a few new crops of young'uns first, though. This Cavs-Warriors thing is the first thing in 20+ years that's gotten me into watching sports much again. Odd how that happened.
Hate to say it, but LeBron is starting to look a bit old and merely human (as opposed to superhuman). Still amazing of course, but the passing of the torch looks pretty inevitable.
Unfortunately the Warriors are all in their early to mid twenties and were able to assemble because of/in spite of/ the rule made to specifically stop this. The league, however, banked on player greed and ego to negate a bit of it. When superstars started to accept the fact that they were rich no matter what and that the title was far rarer than the monetary gains, it became a simple formula. Pick a place with a climate you like, become a role player at a reduced salary and become unstoppable. That the salary cap was raised last year, during one of the best players free agency times was a perfect storm. No other team will be able to replicate that confluence of events.
The Warriors may well be just hitting their stride. There is no reason they can't get 4 or more years out of this if the current egos remain in check.
Everyone forgets about the Celtics doing it first with Pierce, KG, and Allen.

He has his title, but could not carry his team like Kobe, LeBron or Jordan. So he bought his title. Good for him.
I think the Lakers 2003 roster did it first, at least in terms of the Let's Throw A Bunch of Stars Together Who Are More Interested In A Ring Than A Max Salary thing. Didn't work out too well for them though...

Nope, I have huge respect for LeBron but this time he didn't have enough to carry his team. One of the reasons for that is the Dubs are not a one man show. LeBron said that and I agree with it. Lebron James also respects Durant and I value his opinion much more than your opinion and the opinions of all the Durant naysayers online.
I like playing with good/unselfish musicians, we do our best to make each other sound good. No one has ever criticized my bass playing because of that.

Are you talking about Malone and Payton? Wasn't that both of their last year in the league? I just see a couple aging Veterans (Malone was like 38 or so) as different than a superstar in his prime.
