NBD — junk drawer/rattlecan content

Funny! I put together a junk drawer/rattlecan tele yesterday. Unknown body, Squier neck, Tex mex pickups, CTS pots, orange cap, treble bleed, tort guard, Squier hardware. Waiting on the control plate to be delivered. It sounds and plays great.

Love this! But a junk-drawer axe ain't a junk-drawer axe if you had to order anything special for it. Surely you can make a control plate out of something you have around the house... an old beat-up license plate would be awesome!

The first iteration of my signature model had a pick guard cut out of rusted barn roofing tin coated in shellac. It kind of looked like tort-leather.
