This “reverse” wiring of the 5th knob never made any sense to me. So when I built a new wiring harness for my 4005XC I wired it so that clockwise faded the neck pickup in instead of out. I used the last two NOS Ajax .047uF blue caps I had for it, and wired the output jacks the way Billy Sheehan’s Attitude bass is wired. Either jack is the same mono signal, but to get stereo, you have to plug in a separate mono cable for each jack. This would make it easier to use two separate wireless transmitters than one TRS cable with a splitter box at the amp end. I never use a cable anymore, even at rehearsal. But I don’t play in stereo either, but I wanted to try something different.
