NBD - 1968 Rickenbacker 4005

This one may be one of those steals of a lifetime! Just scored a 1968 Rickenbacker 4005 for about the price a new 4005V!!! Sadly, it came without a case but one can be found later. Minus some surface checking and some damage on the headstock, this things is CLEEEAN!!!!

The correlation between Rickenbacker ownership and having cats is pretty high lol. There's even a facebook page called Kittenbackers for it. Most of my friends that own Rics also have cats as well.

Hellava Score! That really is in amazingly good shape for it's age. Will this fit in a standard Ric tolex case? They are very nicely made, but $$$. I don't even see them on Ric Boutique anymore, are they still selling them? Last I checked that ran around $400! The plastic Ric cases suck, almost universally break at the "feet" on the bottom edge. Otherwise it's trial and error. You might actually try Aliexpress, they make 4005 rip-offs, maybe somebody has a case for it.

Maine Coon Cat? We have a very similar one, but she has a white "beard" and paws, I think she's around 50% Maine Coon. Really smart cat.

No. The case for mine was significantly larger.

The FG 4005WB (not mine) is seven S/Ns away from mine.

I think 4005s of that vintage, especially red ones, are the most beautiful bass guitars ever made. If I had the dosh, I would buy one just to look at. It might sound great and play great, but who cares when it is that pretty!
