Yep, I'm a bit concerned about pickguard's colour. In fact, I've always been fond of the "natural + 3 ply black" combo, but the ones of you who prefer the white one are right: it looks overall "clean" and fresh, it matches well with the finish. Well, it's a matter of time I guess...I just have to wait until the black one comes in to do an A/B comparison...I'll keep you updated

My "old" P bass, although a MIJ Squier, looks a lot like yours (mine has a RW 'board, though), and I removed the white guard to replace it with a black one, which I definitely preferred. It now has a gold ano' guard on it that will be on there for as long as I have the bass.

Congrats on a great find and a great looking bass, imo. Play it well and often.

Put a black PG on that '75 just like my '77 in my avatar. That is one solid bass that will need few if any adjustments over its lifetime. Good luck with it.

I am curious: Does it sound different from other Precisions?

I hear the mid-to-late 1970s P basses have a different timbre than other P basses. If so, it makes me want one.

Nice! I wish I had me one of those! My daughter has a Squier Classic Vibe 70's Jazz Bass in Natural. I think it's a copy of a 1975 Jazz Bass. I love the Natural look. It has a Maple body and is really heavy. It has a lot of bottom end and sustain. I guess because it's so heavy. Does an Ash Bass have a lot of bottom end and sustain because of the weight?

Yea, 'naturals' get kind of a bad shake due to all the sanded down refins with lackluster wood that was intended to be covered-up and the variety of stains and varnishes. The 70's factory naturals look pretty sharp imo.

I'd like to share with you my new super clean/mint Fender P Bass from 1975!

I'm thrilled, It's almost one year since I fell in love with a '78 and then started to look for one.
That's exactly what I was looking for: natural/maple with TV logo

All original, with covers, thumb rest, tag, case and cable.

Pu and pots dated 1975. Oh, and it pretty light: 3.9-4.0 kg! 70s tone to die for, definately a keeper for me.
