NBD: 1975 Fender Precision Bass

Loverly!! My 1st "Real" bass was same vintage Jazz! Those holes are screaming out for the thumb rest, bridge guard and and pup guard! I love seeing them, but I had to take them off too like this, in order to, well er...PLAY IT. But when I see them advertised I always think.."yes!" I don't know how old you are but some of us had our lives changed by these instruments. No more fenders for me UNLESS IT"S THESE ONES!

Gorgeous grain on that body - and that weight! Congrats. I do have a very big soft spot for the TV logo...I've got its slightly older sister ('74) :laugh:

I go back and forth on missing my '74. I bought it new when I was 15 (received half of it as a Christmas present). I grew up in a small town with only one music store. They didn't have one, so we went to another town 15 miles from home who did. I was too inexperienced to notice that it had neck issues from the start and was too naive to make Fender fix it under warranty. I did keep it for 15 years though...

I've been looking for THAT bass for a long time, I will never sell that piece of wood :) nor it will ever be modified.

Yep, the neck pocket is slightly larger on the G side of the neck, but it fits perfectly - no "air" around the heel.
And no dead spot, neck signed by J. Torres if I remember well...he did a good job :laugh:

Wonderful, I love the TV logo (both on P and J basses).

I may have experienced the same neck issues with my '75 P. Changes in humidity caused the maple neck to bend. Nice action at home, then strings flat on the frets at the (evaporative) air conditioned gig! Almost wore out the truss rod bolt:-(

That's a pity!
I live in an area with notable levels of humidity, but never came through issues with necks - as long as they're made out from good wood, and they're thick (but I'm not keen on instruments with slim necks, though)
