This showed up yesterday afternoon. One owner bass that was played until a few years ago, then stuck in a closet in the case. Needed quite a bit of clean up to get rid of some grime but still has plenty of mojo and character.

I knew going in that this era of Fender's has been crucified by many, but I was willing to take a chance after a considerable amount of communication with the seller.

Changed the pads under the pickups and resoldered a few wires. Slapped some round wounds on it. Set up was easy peasy.

Plays and sounds great. Very pleased.

Man, when I was a kid that color burst was all the rage. It brings back memories of going into guiyar shops and drooling over Fender basses I couldn't afford.

Great snag. Great looking bass!

Thanks. I was torn. I was really grooving on a black 74 that has a similar history but had rosewood fingerboard. I really wanted maple and yes the "burst" spoke to me.
