NBD 1989 MIM Fender Precision Bass

So this 1989 MIM Precision came in on trade before Christmas and it's been sitting ever since, hardly anyone has looked at it since it arrived. I took note and thought I'd let the general public have a crack at it but I decided to put a deposit on it today. Being 36 years old it's in excellent shape, I gave it a set up and it plays great, honestly it reminds me a lot of a 70s Precision in feel. Strings are total toast, I can't wait to put some new Rotosounds on it. Here's some quick pics, I'll report back once I get it home.

Black and white P. Classic! The first bass I ever played was a loaner from school when I was a kid and it was identical. I blame that bass for my lifelong dedication to only playing basses with black, white, or silver/grey finishes.

Very nice, congrats! First order of business is to install chrome knobs; I’m personally not a fan of those Strat-type knobs on a bass. But that’s just me.

I remember when these came out, everyone was like *** with the Strat knobs, pure penny pinching lol. My plan was to put a Thunderbird pickup in it but I may just leave it alone they are a bit of a oddity in Precision history.

workhorse basses. a 3 or 5 ply black guard would have this thing looking like a million bucks.

cool. My fretless MIM jazz is from '99 or 2000. A really good bass for $299 (at the time).

Doesn’t MN8 serial mean 1998? Asking because I recently got a MN5 neck I thought was a 95.
