Hi guys, I recently celebrated paying off my credit card by putting this dream bass on my credit card.
It was on consignment, labeled only as a 1991 Modulus fiver, I saw it was neck-thru by clicking on the photos. I don't know if it's a TBX per se or not. There's a bunch of pocking on the front opposite the controls but nothing through the finish. It arrived with beautiful low action and doesn't feel like it weighs very much at all.
I have been playing short and medium scales exclusively but am starting to think neck thickness is, for me, the more important variable, as this bass seems to fit me like a glove despite its daunting length.
Interestingly, the frets are made of mandolin wire; I quite enjoy the feel.
Anyway, this is going to be my only bass other than my fretless Peavey T-40. As we all know here on TB, nothing is forever in love and basses, but for now, at least, I'm pretty stoked!
