NBD: 2006 Warwick Thumb BO 4

Just got this 2006 Warwick Thumb Bass, it plays like a dream, kinda heavy but it’s not unplayable heavy, tried the Bass on my Joyo bass practice amp and I am loving the sound and it has a Active/Passive circuit and I love both tones.
Can’t wait to go gigging with it.

VERY nice looking bass!

That bass is on my dream list, thanks in no small part to Mr Ryan Martinie :bassist:
The 5 string was my dream bass for the same reason. Until I got it. I was so disappointed because I don't really play on the bridge pickup too much (P bass guy when it was all said and done) HOWEVER I had a fretless BO Thumb 4 and it was an absolute dream instrument. Wish I still had it.

Where do we send the lint roller for the cat hair infested case?

Whats she weigh?

That warwick truss rod tool ( and the whole wallet) is an excellent accessory. Congrats on that as well.

I’m looking at the same bass in fretless

What did you pay for it? ( market research)

£1,400 but I am paying it monthly as I couldn’t afford to buy it at full price, I don’t know how much it weighs but it’s not lite and the lint roller was lost in shipping 😏 (I am using my soft case for now until I clean it properly)

Pay no attention to the hefty weight. It's because of all the tone trapped inside the wood. Carry on.

Yeah it’s very nice, the fat U profile on the neck isn’t my favourite but I LOVE the Bass, I will get use to it

With the brass frets being so big, refretting with smaller wire can help reduce the hefty feel of the neck.

Pulling frets from a wenge board is best done with great care, though.

It certainly looks like the case did its job, given the clean appearance of the body.

I can't tell from the photos if the pickup covers have gotten any (what they call in Markneukirchen) "schlapwehr" from prodigious prior thumbing.

The closer to either side of the year 2000 the better with these.

UPDATE: Will the Bass is VERY nice, the neck shape is just not comfortable to play for me, I have sell it (I played it at rehearsal and I was struggling, I LOVE the sound so I will get a Streamer instead)
I finally had to try a German Made Warwick but the neck is just too much.
😭😭😭
