NBD....Again....But it's a keeper this time!

Thanks guys. I'm really liking the color.

I agree Musicman20. I have no idea why they dropped the Candy Cola.
I haven't seen the Mystic Red in person, but it looks to be a lighter shade. I understand it is a metalic color and only comes with a rosewood fingerboard. They also added Mystic Blue which comes with a maple fingerboard.

I've been playing the bass along with recordings at the house using my stage rig. I am really lovin' that p-bass thump. Big, full sound with plenty of bottom and each note comes through clear.
What really surprises me is the B string. I guess I got lucky and got that "right one", 'cause it sings out out clear, full and the sustain is great. I've never owned a 5 string with a B string as good as this. Including my FCS.

Anyone else have a Am Stnd P5 with a great B string?
Just wondering if mine is that "right one" or if all are pretty much the same.

Congrats Man! Love my 2010 Precision V.

My go to bass.

If you don't have a preference, after about 3 different sets, I am convinced that DR Low Rider Nickels are the best wound strings for this bass. Not too bright, good lows and they stay fresh for an incredibly long time.
Thanks. I'll give 'em a try.
We're still 3 weeks out before our next gig due to one band member being ill and another tied up with personal business, so I'll keep the originals on until a week before the gig.
I try to stay open minded when it comes to strings. I used GHS Boomers for years and put them on my FCS when I got it. A couple of weeks later I went back to the Fender 8250-5M's that came on the bass. It just sounded and played better with them.
