NBD (Almost) 50th Birthday Present (Peavey)

This may be a bit long winded so apologies in advance, but today has been an interesting day. I looked on eBay UK this afternoon (don't know why) but my first pro" bass was a Peavey T-40, which my Dad bought for me for my 21st birthday back in 1988.That bass was stolen in the early 90's so I look from time to time to see if I can find it, & I can still remember the serial number as well.
But since then I have always had a have a soft spot for American made Peavey basses especially those from the 80's & early 90's. And there it was a Peavey Foundation from 1992 Black & Maple, SF pickups and genuine wear and tear from 25 years of use (no road worn). And the price only £175 for an American made vintage bass (Squier Standards are dearer) so with my wife's blessing I pulled the trigger and bought it.
Now the bass arrives on either Thursday or Friday and my birthday is not till the 1st of August, now even though I said over 2 years ago that I would buy no more basses, I bought this as a present to myself for reaching this milestone. So my Am.Std Precision has flatwounds & the Peavey will have a set of Rotosound RS66 strings, & I will have both the Precision & Jazz (style) bass guitars. But both proudly made in the U.S.A

I have owned several Foundations. They were all around 9 lbs. I have heard of some being pretty heavy.

The T40 is a iconic bass ,very high quality and low price when Fender was at a low point. My first T40 bought in 78 was $225 new with hardshell case. You can't go wrong

I loved my T-40 I always associated heavy basses, with quality because of that bass .

One minute Jeff it's August 27th 1987 & I'm buying my first bass guitar, not having the slightest clue what a journey that £89 bass would take me on . 30 years on (2017) I'm still in love with the bass guitar & I can honestly look back on it all (money paid & money lost on basses and gear, good gigs & bad ones) and say I've enjoyed it all & the journey continues .

The bass arrived today (5th July) by the time I got home from work so very happy. Put a new-ish set of roundwounds on it, & gave it a quick clean. The truss rod needs a couple of turns to straighten the neck out, do I need to get a 5/16th wrench like Gibson use?
Will post pictures soon the bass has some wear but not bothered, just glad to have another American made Peavey bass.

Here are a few pictures of my NBD my 1992 Peavey Foundation Bass. a vintage American made bass for less than a Squier Standard how is this possible. The bass has natural wear & tear from it's past 25 years, & I forgot how thin the necks on these were. And others have said that they weigh about 9lb doesn't feel like it though.
