I’m a guitar player but also love bass. I grabbed my J a few years ago and love its versatility but recently felt the itch for a P. Had my 78 SVT serviced and got it back yesterday just in time for the P’s arrival! Paired up with my Heritage 8x10 and it is an absolutely thunderous, glorious sound!

I am really pleased with the American Professional II. Feels fantastic and just begs to be played. Initially I was set on black but just couldn’t look away from the Miami blue. So glad I went with it, to me it looks fantastic!

I had about 15 minutes of opportunity to crank the SVT up and let her rip and I am in love with this guitar and my sound! Hope the neighbors will agree! :laugh:

They are great. Sold a Yamaha BB because I was looking for the entire P bass experience, on Sunday. Grabbed a mint Pro II P from a used dealer where I live for an amazing price. Such a great sound and feel, just a very solid P bass. Enjoy it man!

I recorded a rough draft of a cover I'm working on for content and used the bass on the track. I love that rich tone/midrange grind.

I spent about two hours playing last night, couldn’t put it down!

After I posted this I read up a bit on this series and was really surprised and disappointed to see all of the QC issues. I’m super picky about everything and mine played and felt great last night but I’ll definitely go over it very closely tonight. Really happy with it so far though!

My SVT has been a bit of a saga. Bought it for a great price but quickly found out why…it was noisy. Took it to a guy that was recommended to me and he did absolutely nothing to make it quieter. Took it to another guy and despite a valiant effort and replacing most of the electrolitics, it was still noisy. Rediscovered a great guitar shop I hadn’t done business with in several years and found out he had tech that was supposed to be highly regarded. Dropped it off and he turned it around in a week. Replaced some leaking coupling caps and regrounded. While it’s definitely quieter, and while playing, negligible, there’s still a slight hum at idle. Admittedly I have a super low threshold for noise tolerance so it’s probably just something I’ll have to learn to deal with. Aside from that it sounds fantastic!
I’m in Northeast PA and took it to D-Town guitars. Not sure where you’re at but, I’d recommend them.

For sure! Just have to play them before buying in most cases. It is super annoying when you try out a brand new bass for $2k+ and it just sucks. I spent a good 30 minutes with the used one I got over the weekend to make sure it was good to go. I recently grabbed a MIJ Marcus Miller from @Quadzilla that is incredible too, but it's older and made in Japan, so we all know what to expect with the MIJ stuff.

I've purchased three American made Fenders online since 2020 and they have all had zero QC issues.

Indeed. Just got another MIJ Strat this week and it's a clone of the other one I have except for the color. It's exactly the same in all ways, down to the exact mm where the finish cuts off on the sides of the nut. Extremely consistent.
