Thank-you for your detailed answer. That amp is not exactly a bedroom amp. I haven’t been around them enough lately, especially in a quiet setting, to know how much they hum.My SVT has been a bit of a saga. Bought it for a great price but quickly found out why…it was noisy. Took it to a guy that was recommended to me and he did absolutely nothing to make it quieter. Took it to another guy and despite a valiant effort and replacing most of the electrolitics, it was still noisy. Rediscovered a great guitar shop I hadn’t done business with in several years and found out he had tech that was supposed to be highly regarded. Dropped it off and he turned it around in a week. Replaced some leaking coupling caps and regrounded. While it’s definitely quieter, and while playing, negligible, there’s still a slight hum at idle. Admittedly I have a super low threshold for noise tolerance so it’s probably just something I’ll have to learn to deal with. Aside from that it sounds fantastic!
I’m in Northeast PA and took it to D-Town guitars. Not sure where you’re at but, I’d recommend them.
Your new bass is great. Unless it didn’t do the fundamental (pun intended) job for me, I would ignore minor flaws. They all start looking ‘road worn’ after a while.
