Mine balances perfectly as is. I assume they were careful to use lighter necks considering "light weight ash" was central to their ad copy when these came out in 2019.

Beautiful bass. A work of art according to my definitions. I wouldn't change a thing. Enjoy it.

I've got the earlier model with the roasted ash body. Ended up putting a roasted maple neck on it and even with a Hipshot D tuner and Audere preamp it only weighs 7 pounds and 11 ounces. Hard to play a 9 pound bass after this!

Since we're weighing jazzes. I knew mine was light but I've never actually measured it until right now.

I just got a Am-Pro-II fretless J-bass. I weighed it tonight, 8.75 lbs (8lbs, 12oz). It's a good weight, but 8.2lbs is amazing!
