I had placed an ad on my local Craigslist asking if someone had a beat up, non working bass, that I would take it off their hands and give them a couple of bucks for it. I just wanted a bass to take apart and rebuild as a project.
I reveived a response from a guy who had a bunch of bases, and he had one that he never played anymore. He said the finish had cracks in it, and he would rather it went to someone who wanted it. He sent me a cell phone pic of it. It was of a Washburn CB14. I said I would love to have it. How much. Nothing he said, just come and get it, and it's yours.
So I meet the guy in a parking lot, and he gives me the bass in it's gig bag. I said thanks and shook his hand and he leaves. I place the bass in the back seat, and almost crap my pants. This is the bass I just got for free because someone who had a ton of bases didnt want it anymore:
I think I used up alot of luck today.
