NBD - assembled from parts

I painted it myself, looks better in photos then it is. I used Montana Gold satin paint, and some satin clear coat, it is kind of soft though, I wouldn't recommend that paint.

I put it on super thin, 2 coats each, I think it will have a 'road worn' look pretty quickly < year.

Did you use the "coral" color? Haha. That's the same stuff that I used on my parts P. Great color, but yes, it is really soft and it went on weirdly for me (probably because I used a different brand base coat). And I used the glossy clear.

And mine looks much better in pictures too!

The photo shows more blue than it is, the colour was Malachite.

The colours on the website aren't really the colours when I got to the shop. That sent me into a crisis! I picked a couple and then decided on this one. Looks pretty similar to yours, I really wanted a green, but the green I got was too light.

That Montana Gold paint is low pressure cans which I had never used, it created a cloud of paint. Actually I had a green in Montana Black that was 'normal' pressure that would have probably been a bit better. But yes, seems soft and it has been a month.

Nice bass there, I hope you had as much 'fun' putting it together as I did.

Yes, I did the epoxy job. That was hell, it was a long time ago though so I don't remember much, probably better that way. Actually pulling the frets was probably the worst part.

Followed the sticky thread here from talkbass, but used some Devcon two part epoxy, a couple of coats, like 3 or 4.

I do notice some wear though, after a couple days of playing, we'll see how it holds up.

I like it, I think the color is perfect.

I wouldn't put a pickgaurd on it.

All my basses are completely blinged out and I'm getting kind of tired of it.

Yours is like the average cute girl who will absolutely hurt you, where mine are like swimsuit models who are just clueless...

You should be proud and I'm somewhat jealous. :smug:

Haha it was sure 'fun':P I used a body from GFS, so that was a headache in itself trying to expand the neck pocket to fit the squier neck. Then the whole mishap regarding the body falling off of the paint rack while putting down the first color coats.

Good first build though! :D
